I wanted to start a thread to follow up on my first post made on the 5th of September. I asked about advice for running and I got some good help. I am happy to say my issues seem to have been solved.
So I started the Couch to 5k shortly after my first post.
9/16/14 I started on the week 4 because I was already beyond the actual begining.
9/19/14 Ran further during each intervaul which was nice to see. Always encouraging.
9/23/14 Ran further once more, but by the end of the run I hadn't gone any greater distance, which means I ran harder in the beginning but ended up at about the same. Still think I ran harder over all but I must've walked slower during the recovery periods.
Next run will be 9/25/14 and I'm starting week 5
My goal is to join the Marine Corps. I cannot wait, I'm very excited. However, at 21 years old and out of shape, they can have their pick of the liter and I'm the runt. So they want more from me before they send me to MEPS and have my sign paperwork. I need to do 2 pullups, 50 sit ups in under 3 minutes, and run a 1.5 mile in under 13 minutes. It looks like the C25K is going to help me achieve that last point, which is one of the bigger sticking points for me as I've not been a strong runner since I was a little kid.
So, to help me continue on this path I would love for others who have done the program or are doing it now or are about to start to post in here after each run and say how you did. Misery loves company after all.
If you're not doing the C25K but you are just starting all the same, post any way. Say what your progress has been.
