As everyone now knows, the Indy Crush has merged with the Indiana Prospects. The Indy Crush - Blue will take its blue print for establishing winning traditions and establish its own brand of top level softball. Effective August 1, we will be the Indiana Krush.
Make no mistake, this is NOT a knock off of the Indy Crush. Jack Phelps, Co-owner of KrushAthletics is directly and heavily involved in the development and management of this organization and has co-owned/operated Krush Athletics for over 12 years now. We WILL provide the best in coaching, specialty instruction, mental and physical development and collegiate promotion (in addition to showcase tournament participation - and they are very different).
We will field a maximum of two teams per age division. Basically a first year team and a second year team. There will be no doubt this will be A level or higher for every age division or we will NOT field the team.
The Indy Crush - Blue team will be the Indiana Krush first year 16U team for the 2014-2015 season. This team has won, as of 6-2-14, a total of 6 tournament championships and 5 runner up finishes in 13 completed tournaments. This has been a first year team together. Going forward, we will have a heavy emphasis on collage exposure, athlete development to perfect the 5 tools of the trade, assist in college promotion through outreach and invitation camps, college exposure tournaments, clinics and exclusive insight opportunities.
We have some quality ball clubs ready to join the excitment for the 2014-2015 season. One of them is a very solid 12U A team that will be coming over as first year 14U team. Currently they are the Indiana Smash. They also have won 6 tournament championships and have 1 runner up finish. This team is in line to compete at the highest levels out of the gate.
Looking ahead to the 2014-2015 season, we will be looking for existing A teams, A Players and quality A coaches that really want to make this about the players, not about stroking egos. We have talked to other teams, but given the organizations they are in, we will not be announcing any other teams until after they have completed their World Series. We will have a unified balance of coaching, clinics and specialized training for our athletes. This will be a ground floor opportunity for the right people who are really looking to make a difference in player development.
THE BEST HAS YET TO COME
We already have workout facilities, but our teams will shortly have the best there is in softball facilities. We are currently negotiating our own ballpark and new state of the art training center. The vision for these facilities will make everything else around here pale in comparison. Our training center will be state of the art and will focus on all aspects of hitting, pitching, fielding, catching, speed and agility. Our objective is to develop the complete player and help them achieve their objectives of being "noticed" by college programs.
What we are NOT:
- We are not ever going to be an organization that takes credit for getting players college scholarships (players earn everything they receive not a coach or Director)
- We will never use the organization to make money off of the players efforts
- We will not tolerate coaching that isn't effective or demeans players
- We will not allow "daddy ball" on any team
It is easy for us to put this program together. Like all of you, we have had the luxury of seeing how all other organizations fail to deliver and we are positioned to truly make it happen for our players.
